The Reynolds Family on Film & Digital If you know me on a personal level, then you know that my heart has been in photography since the age of 15. That is when I stepped foot into my first darkroom and learned to use my first manual film camera. It’s where I escaped when I was having hard times. I loved to journal but I LOVED to take pictures. It was my way to express who I was, what I was feeling and what I was going through. It was my therapy.Often times in life, I question who or what I want to do for a living. I want to do more to serve and help others. I want to give more to the suffering, to the needy, to the people with special needs. This past week has been the heaviest. My dear friends lost their 2nd child. And as I help them pick up the pieces to their broken hearts, I do feel grateful that I have been able to capture their family pictures for the past 13 years. As I’m taking this time to feel, grieve and be present for the people who need me, I’m grateful for all the families who trust and ask me to document their family life. This precious family that is on my blog today makes me smile. I just met them a few weeks ago, and getting to spend a couple of hours capturing these beautiful, imperfect, sweet and funny moments brings me life. Thank you Reynolds family for inviting me into yalls sweet home to document this time in yalls life. familyMel ColeDecember 3, 2019film photography, film is not dead, film, lifestyle photographer, austin portrait photographer, austin children photographer, austin photographerComment 0 Likes
